Cookie Policy
How GitHobby uses cookies and similar storage technologies.
Last updated: August 2026
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device. We use the term "cookies" in this policy to refer broadly to cookies and all similar browser storage technologies, such as localStorage and sessionStorage. These technologies allow websites to remember your preferences and actions over time.
2. How GitHobby Uses Them
GitHobby uses browser storage primarily to ensure the application works correctly (such as remembering your scroll position) and to remember your privacy choices. We also use optional third-party analytics cookies to measure website usage, but only if you affirmatively consent.
3. Necessary Storage
Necessary storage is required for the core functionality of GitHobby and cannot be disabled. For example, without a place to store your privacy choice, you would be prompted to accept or reject cookies on every page.
4. Optional Categories
GitHobby uses the following optional categories, which are disabled by default until you grant permission:
- Analytics: Helps us understand how visitors use GitHobby by collecting and reporting information anonymously (provided by Google Analytics).
GitHobby currently does not use Marketing cookies or Optional Preferences storage.
The website embed SDK does not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, analytics, or behavioral tracking. Its existence does not add a cookie category or change your choices on this site.
5. Cookie and Storage Inventory
6. Third-Party Services
As noted above, if you enable Analytics, Google sets cookies on your device to help us analyze website usage. Google may process this data independently in accordance with their privacy policy. GitHobby does not currently use any other third-party cookies.
7. How Consent Works
When you first visit GitHobby, optional cookies and storage are blocked. A privacy panel appears, allowing you to "Accept optional" or "Reject optional" technologies. You can also customize your choices via the "Manage preferences" button.
8. How to Change or Withdraw Preferences
You can withdraw your consent or change your preferences at any time by returning to this Cookie Policy and clicking the Manage cookie preferences button above, which reopens the privacy panel. Withdrawing consent stops future data collection by the relevant technology.
9. Browser Controls
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. However, if you limit the ability of websites to set necessary cookies or local storage, you may worsen your overall user experience and lose the ability to save your privacy choices.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use. Significant changes will be indicated by a new "Last updated" date, and we may re-prompt you for consent if new categories are introduced.
